Sashakt Foundation was established in 2016 by Pratik Kumar, with the aim to develop a sustainable, and community led society. Sashakt Foundation believes that the human race and the natural habitat need to thrive together for mankind to be better off in the long run. As an environment ngo and a ngo working with adolescent girls, Sashakt Foundation believes in creating a future where mankind is empowered, and mother-nature strengthened because only together can the benefits be sustained. The interventions of Sashakt foundation are in the thematic of adolescent girl empowerment, climate change and environment, digital and financial literacy, and emergency relief. The organization is currently working in the states of Gujarat, Delhi NCR, and Jharkhand.

Sashakt enables individuals and communities to contribute to the sustenance of planet earth and undertake emergency relief work during disaster situations.

Board of Management

Vijay Kumar Singh – Director

B. Tech (Mining), M. Tech (Envt.) Ex-Chief General Manager, Environment from Coal India Limited. A mining engineer from Indian School of Mines, he has pioneered outstanding work on environment and sustainable development issues. He was a member of the Environmental Appraisal Committee of Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India responsible for giving environmental clearance for Coal and Thermal Power projects. Besides his technical skills, he believes in contributing back to society and worked extensively to help underprivileged communities by providing them education and livelihood support. He is a champion of sustainable development that works seamlessly with the need for economic prosperity.  

Mahima Mishra Singh – Director

Mahima is a Master’s in mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She then had a brief stint in the private sector before taking up a Ph.D. with the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University. A year into the programme she took the decision to concentrate on her family. She joined the Delhi Govt. as a Maths Teacher, where she had spent 20 years with several schools. She learnt how to deal with marginalized children and encourage them to strive to do their best.


Pratik Kumar – Chief Executive Officer


Pratik Kumar is a seasoned social sector practitioner with the right mix of passion and professionalism. He has a career spanning almost three decades in the UN, International NGOs, Indian Government and the private sector. In 2016 he moved on from his role as the Executive Director at Magic Bus Global after seven years with the organisation. Earlier he was the CEO of Magic Bus India Foundation and responsible for scaling the organisation from a small programme in Mumbai to 23 states in India, reaching out to 400000 children and youth. He completed his graduation in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. After a brief stint in the corporate sector, he joined the Indian Civil services in the 1992 batch. His four-year stint in the National AIDS control programme in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India inspired him to play a more substantial role in the social sector. In 2006, he left the government to join United Nations in the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Regional Office for South Asia to lead a project on drugs and HIV. He is a native of Bihar and believes that young people have the power to truly shape the future.

Akanksha Chaubey – Programme Manager

With a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Master’s degrees in Conflict Management and Development and Political Science, Akanksha is growing as a professional in the field of development. With expertise in stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and project management, she brings a valuable set of skills to the team. Akanksha has successfully managed projects and initiatives in various organizations, including the Air-Pollution Action Group and HOPE Welfare Trust. At Sashakt, she serves as a Programme Manager, bringing her passion for social work and drive to create real change to every project.

Arun Kumar- Trainer (Noida)


BSW/MSW (Bachelor/Master of Social Work) He is trainer with Sashakt Foundation with over 10 years of experience in the NGO sector. He is a passionate individual committed to the rights of children and young people. His particular interests include sports, childhoods, livelihood, gender, leadership and he has previously worked with Blind Relief Association & International Blind Sports Federation and Magic Bus India Foundation. Besides being a good trainer, Arun contributes significantly to development of new training tools, content and monitoring and evaluation. He is also a Certified ‘D’ License coach in Football from AIFF.

Pawan Kumar- Programme Officer


MSW (Urban & Rural Community Development) Pawan is a passionate social worker devoted to bringing change to communities around him. Prior to joining Sashakt, he worked with the district administration of Gumla in Jharkhand as a Development Associate and done a case study on primitive tribes of the district. He is an avid fitness freak and is a Black Belt in karate. He leads Sashakt’s programs in Jharkhand looking at our IT Literacy, Sports for Development and Environment programs in Ranchi district.

Chetna – Accounts & Admin Officer


Chetna, with an experience of four years in the development sector and handling its financial management, has a master’s degree in commerce. As an Accounts & Admin Officer, she works on financial and statutory compliances and keeps proper records of Income & Expenditures, Assets & Liabilities. She is always exploring opportunities to go places, experience its beauty, people, and culture. Chetna’s interest also lies in art & craft related activities and reading books.

Wilson Macwan- Trainer (Gujarat)


BSW/MSW (Bachelor/Master of Social Work) Wilson has worked in different organizations in various capacities. He has been a Blood Bank Social worker, a Trainer for Traffic Education, as Project Coordinator on Project Poshan for TB patients with Doctors For You. At Sashakt, he is working as a Trainer looking at the entire range of programs. He has several years of experience in working on Slum Development, Rural Development, Skill Development, and Research and Educational awareness. He loves working with children and young people. He also contributes significantly to content development in Sashakt.  

Jeetendra Kumar Mahto-Football Coach


Jeetendra Kumar Mahto is a passionate football player from Ranchi. He has completed his studies in MCA and has been a university-level football player. He has also earned C level certificate from NCC. Currently, he has been a football coach for our Boys and Girls Football team in Ranchi since October 2020.
